【摘要】:Thispracticeisforusebydesignersandspecifiers,manufacturers,installationcontractors,regulatoryagencies,owners,andinspectionorganizationsinvolvedintheconstructionofburiedfiberglasspipelines.Aswithanypractice,modificationsmayberequiredforspecificjobconditions,orforspeciallocalorregionalconditions.RecommendationsforinclusionofthispracticeincontractdocumentsforaspecificprojectaregiveninAppendixX1.1.1Thispracticeestablishesproceduresfortheburialofpressureandnonpressurex201C;fiberglassx201D;(glass-fiber-reinforcedthermosetting-resin)pipeinmanytypicallyencounteredsoilconditions.Includedarerecommendationsfortrenching,placingpipe,joiningpipe,placingandcompactingbackfill,andmonitoringdeflectionlevels.Guidanceforinstallationoffiberglasspipeinsubaqueousconditionsisnotincluded.1.2Productstandardsforfiberglasspipeencompassawiderangeofproductvariables.Diametersrangefrom1in.to13ft(25mmto4000mm)andpipestiffnessrangefrom9toover72psi(60to500kPa)withinternalpressureratingsuptoseveralthousandpoundforcepersquareinch.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoconsiderallofthepossiblecombinationsofpipe,soiltypes,andnaturalgroundconditionsthatmayoccur.Therecommendationsinthispracticemayneedtobemodifiedorexpandedtomeettheneedsofsomeinstallationconditions.Inparticular,fiberglasspipewithdiametersofafewinchesaregenerallysostiffthattheyarefrequentlyinstalledinaccordancewithdifferentguidelines.Consultwiththepipemanufacturerforguidanceonwhichpracticesareapplicabletotheseparticularpipes.1.3Thescopeofthispracticeexcludesproduct-performancecriteriasuchasaminimumpipestiffness,maximumservicedeflection,orlong-termstrength.Suchparametersmaybecontainedinproductstandardsordesignspecifications,orboth,forfiberglasspipe.Itisincumbentuponthespecifiedproductmanufacturerorprojectengineertoverifyandensurethatthepipespecifiedforanintendedapplication,wheninstalledinaccordancewithproceduresoutlinedinthispractice,willprovidealong-term,satisfactoryperformanceinaccordancewithcriteriaestablishedforthatapplication.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.Note28212;AdiscussionoftheimportanceofdeflectionandapresentationofasimplifiedmethodtoapproximatefielddeflectionsaregiveninAWWAManualofPracticeM45FiberglassPipeDesign.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
